"King Arthur's Quest" Auditions
Co-sponsored by the Albion Youth Theatre
AYT is pleased to bring the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) to Albion. MCT brings a unique performance opportunity with "King Arthur's Quest". Auditions will be on Monday, February 1, from 4:15 to 6:15 p.m. in the Washington Gardner Middle School (WGMS) auditorium. There will be just five days of rehearsal. The week will end with two free performances of "King Arthur’s Quest" on Saturday, February 6th, at 3:00pm and at 5:30 p.m. at WGMS.
"We can do this in a week because there's a sense of urgency," says Albion resident Dory Lerew, who worked with MCT for seven years. "When you tell kids they need to learn something quickly, they do it. If you tell them they can do it, they can do it."
Rehearsals will be held each evening, from 4:15-6:15 p.m. and from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The first rehearsal will begin Monday night after the auditions. Bring at least a snack or sack lunch and drink each night for the rehearsal break from 6:15 – 6:30pm. Since this is only a week-long commitment,
NO ABSENCES WILL BE TOLERATED.
A detailed schedule will be distributed during the audition.
"King Arthur’s Quest" has room for up to 50 actors and backstage crew in grades K-8."This is a great chance to be in a play without having to commit to a two-month rehearsal," says Lerew. "We teach the kids lots of great skills; plus it's fun and gives the kids a good sense of responsibility."
No advance preparation is necessary for auditions, which are free and open to all children in grades K-8.
Albion Youth Theatre is celebrating their 5th anniversary by bringing MCT to Albion in place of AYT’s annual spring production this year.

like to act, is there something for

Although acting is a big part of
AYT, it is not the only part. Every

History |
|
In
May 2006, Albion Youth Theatre
presented its first production to
the Albion community.
Monster in the Closet,
performed at New Hope Worship
Center, involved twenty children and
youth playing roles including kids,
adults, monsters, kings, and other
fantasy creatures.
Throughout the
three performances, AYT performed a
delightful show for its audience,
but the highlight was a performance
for Washington Gardner Elementary
School -- a time when the cast could
be proud and show their friends and
classmates their tremendous
accomplishments.
Thank you,
Albion, for your support during out
first production!
